If there’s a hair transformation—Machine Gun Kelly is going to do it.
And the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards on Sept. 26 was no exception, since MGK turned heads with his two-toned hair.
Keeping his hairdo slicked back, one side sported his signature blonde, while the other was dyed black. The “Lonely Road” rapper had a moment when two strands of hair fell from either side down by his eyes—letting the transformation shine.
But MGK, 34, didn’t just switch up the style of his hair. Channeling his inner country boy, the “Bloody Valentine” singer wore a pair of black trousers, a black leather vest and white shirt with a black skinny tie.
Keeping things country, the musician also wore a pair of black cowboy boots with silver vamps that read, “move” on his left shoe, and “b--ch” on his right. As for his other accessories, the rocker dressed his ears in a combination of blinged out hoops and simple diamond studs.
It was a big night for MGK who was nominated for three awards and took home the Crossover Song honor for his hit “Lonely Road” with Jelly Roll. MGK closed out the evening with a performance of the song with the help of his longtime friends and backing band.
His collaborator Jelly Roll was noticeably absent from the ceremony as he is currently on his Beautifully Broken tour.
And while accepting his award, MGK addressed his and Jelly Roll’s past feud and their growth to the present.
“We went from 10 years ago hating each other to elevating each other,” MGK said about the single that marked their first collaboration,” adding, “Comparison is the thief of joy. There is enough room on the couch for everybody. We found camaraderie in the chaos.”
